Once upon a time…

I was born in 1995 in San José, Costa Rica, I grew up and currently live in Granadilla, a district part of Curidabat, here I lived my childhood with my brother, sister and friends from the neighborhood, playing soccer, riding a bicycle or playing video games in a rainy day.

Since I was little I loved drawing and when I had my first console, a Sega Genesis, I fell in love with video games, not only because they entertained me but because I found it incredible to be able to control characters and interact with different worlds. I remember games like Sonic or the Ninja Turtles, also Mario on Super Nintendo and Crash Bandicoot on Play Station.

I remember that at school I always loved attending arts class, I really liked drawing and doing crafts, the same thing happened at high school, and from there I fell in love with design thanks to Yamil De La Paz, the arts teacher at Colegio Calasanz.

Thanks to Yamil I got to know museums, different types of arts and I understood that art and design is part of our world as well, thanks to him, I also met Rafael Otton Solis, one of the most important Installation artists in our country.

With Rafa, as I call him, I ended up meeting impressive artists and immersing myself in the world of conceptual art in which almost every weekend I went to the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design, MADC, in Costa Rica, in search to see more and learn more about art and design.

Parallel to this process, I began to learn Photoshop on my own from the third year of school, then I learned to use Illustrator and finally After Effects, which led me to digital art after having gone through making ceramic and graffiti murals. This process made me make the decision when I was 16 years old to study Digital Animation.

Once I finished college and entered the Licenciatura en Animación Digital at Véritas University in 2014 my life changed and this became my world.

Animation opened the doors to unimaginable possibilities to create, from stories to art. My self-learning process in the visuals for events and concerts began here and that despite not being something completely new in Costa Rica, my insistence led me to work at Aura Club and Dancefloor, where I had the opportunity to develop this technique in a real life environment.

This led me to collaborate with many artists, DJs and clubs from Costa Rica and even some international ones, and led me to position myself as one of the best VJs (video jockey) in the country.

The freedom and adrenaline of a live event, of creating unforgettable experiences for people and taking the world of night entertainment to another level gave me the way to develop and grow as an artist and to understand how the industry works as well as allowing me to interact with different people who became partners and friends and this was the path that led me to create impressive projects for many brands that, beyond showing their name, wanted to mark and generate new experiences in their users.

And to this day, I'm still in love with creating content, from animated shorts to promotional videos and installations.
